Chord Unveil their "Red Reference" CD Player
From the look of things, the 23rd May seems to be the beginning of a very hot summer. Fortunate timing indeed, as Vernon and Amit, along with many other luminaries from the Hi-Fi industry were invited to spend the day in sunny Kent with John Franks and his staff at Chord Electronics.
After a refresing introduction at The Pumphouse, fuelled by Pimms and canapes, visitors were invited on an afternoon cruise along the river Medway, which runs adjecent to Chord's magnificent facilities.
On our return to the pumphouse, visitors were treated to a Summer High Tea followed by a presentation from Robert Watts on the new version of Chord's near legendary DAC 64. Managing Director John Franks gave a short presentation on the history of Chord as a company, the history of their pumphouse facilities and finally unveiled their new products, the highlight of which was a demonstration of the new "Chord Red Reference" integrated CD Player.
