Blue Murder Sale (2007)
This year at Unilet Sound and Vision's Blue Murder Sale we had the biggest overnight turn out ever. With some of the customers coming from as far as Nottingham and Devon. The vibe was excellent before the shop even opened in the morning, with bacon butties being dealt out to those already in the line at 9am for the Grand Opening. With some 30 - 40 people queuing eagerly by the doors in the morning, waiting to purchase some of the amazing deals that we had to offer.

11:00pm 27th April 2007 - 8 People (7 in picture, 1 taking photo) queue up over night to get some amazing deals that we have.

7:50am 28th April 2007 - Too many people to count here now. I have a feeling a "where's wally" moment is coming with the gentleman in the blue sweater at the back.

8:55am 28th April 2007 - A view of our main showroom just minutes before the rush of the Blue Murder Sale engulfed it.

6:05 28th April 2007 - After a busy day at the shop all that is left is the residue of the night before.

"I just want to thank the Unilet staff on their Blue Murder day. It was
well worth camping out from 4 pm the previous day to get such a good bargain on my 42 inch plasma tv. The generous offer of the bacon butties in the morning was much appreciated. A portaloo would be very helpful for next year. Once again i want to thank all the friendly staff for their help"

"When I heard about the sale I was gob smacked. Blue murder indeed. The amount of people who asked me if this stuff was from the back of truck was ridiculous. Its not, thank goodness!

I drove down from Nottingham the day before and arrived early evening, I was a little surprised to be greeted by 3 other people waiting. The shop was open and luckily, the lazy boy chairs provided for customers and a well timed offer for a cup of tea got the marathon wait off to a very good start. The atmosphere was fantastic, the staff made sure we were all introduced and those who were there were a friendly bunch. Beers were offered round and things settled things down nicely.

So, when the shop finally closed I was expecting a long and tedious wait. I had a book and a bottle of wine and was planning on ‘staying in for a quiet one’….little did I know that the evening was actually going be great fun! The quiet evening never materialised, as you may have guessed, others had bought a few bottles too. With an off licence just around the corner and our places in the queue certain, what else was there to do but have a bit of a laugh!

It was at least 3am before any of us were in the mood to quieten down and go to bed. Music was still playing from the cars and the drinks and conversation were flowing. As opposed to being a tedious and uncomfortable wait, queuing for the sale was, believe it or not, one of best and most unique evenings I’ve had in quite some time and an extremely social occasion.

I will be frank here, getting up was not easy, but by then the excitement of the day ahead was enough to clear the cobwebs and unbelievably the mood of myself and the others was still amazingly good! The queue outside the shop was getting larger and a few blanket clad bodies had turned up in the night, so as you can imagine we were immensely appreciative of the free bacon sandwiches offered by the staff before opening.

With a full stomach, the shop opened and 9 and fun began. The members of staff were incredibly helpful and made the whole experience go very smoothly-though for a second it felt like supermarket sweep!

Thanks again Unilet, you’ve made my year!

Best Regards"

Rob H, Nottingham.
