Founded by Julian Vereker MBE (1945 - 2000), his original inspiration continues to motivate Naim, its people and its designs.

While all Naim products must meet and exceed many measurable parameters we believe that they should, above all, be capable of delivering the kind of musical performance that we ourselves would want to live with. This requires a special and unique approach to component selection and system design along with a highly specialised production environment.

From the remarkable NAIT 5 integrated amplifier to reference products such as the NAC552 preamplifier, NAP500 power amplifier, the CDS3 compact disc player and the magnificent Ovator loudspeakers, the same skills and design expertise have been applied. i Series

The i Series range of components represents our introductory electronics, even though listening tells another story: they simply sound far too sophisticated to be considered 'entry-level'. The CD5i and NAIT 5i benefit from technology that has trickled down from the stratospheric heights of the 500 series. They also feature advanced design elements that were introduced solely for these models, which partly explains why they perform as well as they do. The i models provide a readily affordable beginning to Naim ownership and thus to the pinnacle of audio performance.

XS Series:

The XS family of products is far more than another selection of separates components aiming to introduce customers to Naim's performance first philosophy. All the products have been designed and engineered to work in complete harmony with one other. They can be easily upgraded if desired and are all versatile, leading edge components with contemporary, slim-line styling. The sound they produce is sublime and far superior to other equipment at the same price level or even much higher.

Classic Series

The Classic components are those models - or their descendants - that helped our company to establish its enviable reputation for world-class sound. Some of these designs, such as the legendary NAP 250 power amplifier, have been undergoing revisions and improvements since their introduction: and in the case of the 250 that was the 1970s. These are modern day Classics in the truest sense of the word and benefit from having been thoroughly tried and tested by the most discerning listeners - including many well-regarded musicians - as well as being scrupulously fine tuned for years.

500 Series

The Naim 500 Series represents the ultimate expression of the state-of-the-art in musical replay systems. The performance of each individual element is, we believe, unsurpassed, but when the three are combined they form a union that is truly magical in its breathtaking ability to connect you with the music.

The 500 Series began with the introduction of the fabulous NAP 500 power amplifier, a two-box 140W design that could deliver traditional Naim Reference-level performance into any loudspeaker load, even over prolonged periods. The range subsequently expanded with the introduction of the NAC 552 preamplifier, which we consider to be the finest preamplifier in the world, and the equally superb, state-of-the-art CD555 CD player and 555 PS power supply.

Speakers, Stands and Accessories

The Ovator loudspeaker represents another 'first' for Naim. The design is the first high-end loudspeaker to employ a Balanced Mode Radiator. This clever device covers the audio spectrum from 380Hz upwards to beyond the limits of human perception, which means that, unlike conventional loudspeakers, it has no crossover right in the middle of the critical voice region to affect its performance.

This speaker sounds wonderfully natural whether it is reproducing the biggest bass drum or the tiniest triangle.

Beginning with the S-600 and now joined by the S-400, the Ovator Range is the result of a four-year development programme and represents both a remarkable new expression of proven Naim speaker engineering and a technological advance that, quite literally, recasts the accepted ground rules of electro-acoustics.

Appropriate accessories can enhance the performance of a Naim system by, for example, preventing air and structure-borne vibration distorting the musical signal, and by enhancing and safeguarding the transmission of musical data from one piece of equipment to another. Naim designs and manufactures support furniture - the Fraim equipment support system - mains, interconnect and speaker cables, to allow its products to perform at their best.
