System 1

We all heard the excellent little Project Box5 speakers in gloss white (only £179 a pair) with two gloss white T Zero subs (£299 each) - what a sound for £777! And so discrete.

Driven by the compact Naim UnitiQute All-in-one streamer amplifier (£1150) they made a great sound from tiny boxes.

Proper bass down to a bass guitar's lowest note - plus quick, tight & rythmic. And fully able to be tailored to your room too.

System 2

In the large demo lounge fun was had by all listening to Sonus faber Venere 2.5 floorstanders (£1998) plus a single REL T9 sub (£799).

The Venere speakers reach down to a genuine 40Hz so careful adjustment of the REL to only come in at below 40Hz gave a subtle extra depth reproducing the fundamentals of the lower registers of instruments down to 28Hz.

In addition the sound stage improved as well as greater clarity at the top end. An effect that all good subs have as they establish a better foundation for the music and thus improve the clarity of the rest of the frequencies from the main speakers.

REL turns a good speaker into a great one - together with superb room tuning flexibility.

The system was completed by the new Naim SuperUniti all-in-one streamer amplifier at £3250.
