20 April 2009

Get ready for the biggest Linn LP12 upgrade ever.

We would like to invite to experience what we consider to be one of the biggest upgrade improvements ever for the LP12 during our Linn Radikal - Urika Open day on the 25th of April.

The new Linn Radikal Motor Control Unit (MCU) powers the LP12 in a completely different way and when coupled with Linn Urika Phono Stage (an upgrade from the Lingo and Linto) it retrieves and protects the source signal to a far greater degree than ever before. The Radikal is offered in either standard Akurate style casework or solid aluminium Klimax style casework and can be used independently. The Urika phono stage is however housed within the turntable on a specially modified Trampolin base and can only be used in conjunction with a Radikal.

When used together the improvements in clarity and musical insight delivered from a standard vinyl disc are quite breathtaking and if you have some time available on the 25th we urge to bring a few of your treasured albums and join us along with members of the Linn team for an enjoyable hour of musical revelation.

Please call us to reserve your place or register under events on our website where you will also find more information concerning these breakthrough products. Look forward to seeing you. (Contact Ian Ridge).

Linn DS CD Upgrade OfferNaimUniti all in one audio player Save over £300 on Denon Blu Ray PlayersArcam’s new world-beating AV receiver

During the last three months of 2008 we ran an extremely popular Linn DS promotion. Without exception, those who experienced a demonstration were stunned by how convincingly Linn DS outperformed any CD player. Linn prices are set to rise on the 1st May (please see below) and for the last days of April, in partnership with Linn Products, we are offering 10% off Linn Klimax DS, Akurate DS and Majik DS players at current pre-increase prices when you trade in ANY CD player. This offers a huge saving of over £2700 for LipService readers on a Klimax DS and big savings on Akurate DS. Why not visit our Radikal Open Day on Saturday or contact Ian Ridge on the events page for a personal audition.

The NaimUniti is Naim’s first all-in-one audio player. It combines a ten-input, 50-Watt x 2 integrated amplifier based on the NAIT 5i, a CD player based on the CD5i, and a D to A converter with an output filter derived from the CD5x. Add a high quality DAB/FM tuner, the ability to play streamed audio files wirelessly from UPnP™ servers or internet radio stations, and separate interface inputs for USB memory sticks carrying audio files, iPods and mp3 players and you can see the NaimUniti has all bases covered; you just need a pair of speakers. Available end April. more

Blu Ray players are now gaining popularity at a fast pace as many people have upgraded both their screens and receivers to HD. However, price rises as stated above are now affecting all sectors of the market including popular brands like Denon who currently offer two very well specified Blu Ray players the DVD1800BD player and DVD2500T transport. We have a limited quantity of both available with £300 savings and as a LipService reader you can save an additional £30 on either – this is only available though while stocks last. more

Arcam delivers with new AVR 600 and although still very thin on the ground, we have installed a few and been mightily surprised with both audio and video performance. This fully specified receiver delivers over 120 watts of power with all 7 channels driven and we put that to the test in one install running the front B&W 802 speakers in bi-amp mode. The AVR600 did an excellent job with a speaker that needs real power to sing. The amp runs in A class for the first 10 watts plus and then switches to G class to help heat dissipation, an unusual combination that works very well but that’s only half the story as video processing is superb especially with standard DVD and SKY – the upscaler in this unit is special. Already though the price has leapt twice since release and now stands at £3500 but LipService readers can audition and order one at the old price of £3000 if you do so before the end of April. more

Prices are on the increase.

Price increases are occurring across the board due to the drop in the pound against the dollar and the Euro. Many suppliers have held off as long as possible and at the beginning of the year we saw prices decrease with the VAT drop. But now the party is over with some suppliers posting increases of up to 20% as in the case of B&W 800 series and some Arcam and Denon prices up by 15%. Linn prices are set to move upward on May 1st with many Klimax and Akurate products going up 15% so now is the time to take advantage of our DS promotion and current prices. If you are interested in anything Linn, please don’t delay, contact us now.
