The new Linn Uphorik phono stage is a direct replacement for the existing Linto - which has been the main stand alone phono stage since 1997 - and is housed in standard Akurate style casework. This is the most versatile stand-alone phono stage yet produced by Linn and offers a high level of flexibility by allowing fine-tuning of the cartridge output for maximum performance.
This is achieved via a bank of dip switch compatibility options for both moving magnet and moving coil cartridges, once the optimum level is achieved we can solder the switches in place for you bypassing the contacts for even further performance enhancements.
One other major inclusion is balanced inputs and outputs. This will mean that there will be a soon to follow high performance T-Kable with the XLR type connecters necessary to connect to the input side. This also throws up the possibility of using the turntable further away from the main system without paying the traditional penalties that unbalanced outputs would suffer from but standard phono connectors are included.
Dual mono has always been stereo nirvana and the Uphorik follows this path with dual mono channel separation with internal shielding minimising crosstalk and extraneous interference from the power supply. It also includes the latest switch-mode advances from Linn’s work with Dynamik to lower the noise floor further.
The Linn Uphorik will be available in early April and unlike the Urika can be used with any turntable combination.
